Fear files was only bad because it wasn't an actual game it was expansion packs.

i have to agree with the last part of your post, though. while i'm now hugely, HUGELY into sand box, the plots have been weakened significantly. yes, i'll defend fallout by saying "OMG you can totally run around and check terminals for storiez!" but (and this is a little hard to admit, as a man) i do kinda miss the romance aspect. there really is something about that tension that separates the RPG from the JRPG i suppose. shit, when did FF7 come out? 96? 97? i must have been around 10, and i almost cried when aries got the stick hahaha.
.... like usual i have no idea where i was going with this.
