One is a new player to a game or concept and the other is someone who is not new, but is prone to actions of ignorance regarding the situations that are present on regular occurrences. Low Skill can also be a target for being called a noob. The thing is some perceive the nub and noob differently. Some people might say nub is a new person and noob is someone who is just downright retarded or unskilled. Others will reverse it.
For the most part noob = newbie which is a newer player and inexperienced individual. Nub is trash talk aimed at mistakes made or lack of skill.
