Terribad Customer Service from Controller Mod Company

Here is the story in a nutshell: a customer named Dave pre-orders and pays for this product, the Avenger controller mod, and sends some e-mails to the company inquiring about the delivery date.

The company's website had stated they would be able to deliver before Christmas as long as a higher shipping & handling fee was paid.

The first of December comes and goes and Dave hasn't heard anything so he sends another e-mail. Out of nowhere, the person representing the company starts acting like a big-shot and talking down to Dave, going so far as to throw out all the names of people & places he is hooked up with "in the industry."

This leads to Mike "Gabe" Krahulik from Penny Arcade getting involved. Dave was clever enough to shoot copies of the messages to many of the big-name game news companies the PR guy mentioned.

Thanks for sharing this story! I read it all...wow...I know what I will not be buying lol. If I see them bitches at PAX East I might even say something...how upsetting for a customer to have to go through all of that for something they ordered.

WOW! I loved the part where he tried to backtrack and say "no offense" to Mike from Penny Arcade, then in the next e-mail says his website sucks and his 10 year old could do better. What a flaming pile of douchebaggery this guy is!

Just got done reading this, pretty hilarious.

Pretty sure I posted a few back and forth emails between the CEO of XtendPlay and myself in the article I wrote about XtendPlay. He was all about excellent customer service. Just shows you how easy it is to screw yourself. Hopefully he'll get what he deserves.

This was his first apology, to Dave:

I’m not asking for any sympathy just for some understanding and forgiveness , I’m human just like everyone else and made a mistake. I underestimated you and its cost me a lot of trouble thousands of spam emails , a lot of personal bashing , and internet spam and trouble and just overall stress with my wife and newborn. I ask that you please accept my apology as a peace offering I will refund your money and give you your 2 units/Avengers free of charge please help me to get some of this negativity removed or at least my personal name although its already all over the internet and the calls and emails will not stop but any help will be appreciated especially with penny arcade as Mike and edit his own website I owe him an apology too which I will write next.

And then he started shooting apologies at Mike/"Gabe" from Penny Arcade; here is the end of the second one:

If you can please accept my apology and anything you can do to help if not me my son and wife please do. I have apologized to Dave and apologized to you what else can I do please tell me so I can make things good. I obviously care or I would not be emailing you.

After changing the Ocean Marketing twitter to "OceanStretagy" (sic) he posted this gem:

Now, I think this is fucking hilarious and that blow-hard pissant got what he deserved, but what is bothering me a little here is how quickly and easily the empty threats he had made were executed against him by internet people at large.

It's a scary world we live in these days.
