well the samething is happening right now with the new batman series. Christopher Nolan has a certain way he wants to do the series and Warner Bros. has another way they want it done, including pumping a batman movie out every 2 summers.

adult comic book movies might do even BETTER than ones for teens! they're the ones who actually read the comics!
I agree with this 100%. Plus, tons of "cool" parents will bring their 16-17 year old's, whatever, and let 'em have some Spidey fun.
If they put out a Venom/Carnage/Spider-Man movie and treated it with the same tone as Dark Knight, but also going further with the action & violence (Carnage!) I think it would more than make its money back. Maybe it would only break even at the box office but the DVD sales would blow the roof and there would also be insane merchandising.
I think they could even do a PG-13 "symbiote" movie, as long as it had some rock solid writing, and that would get 'em in droves.
It feels too soon to "reboot" this nonsense again. I don't think John Q Moviegoer is going to want to see the 'nerd getting bitten by radioactive spider' thing again.

it would have been cool to make the spider-man movies more adult-ish the older toby got. i mean he was pretty young in the first one and it was either pg or pg13. spiderman 4 could have been rated R or a an almost R pg13

I agree, this doesn't sound like a good idea to start over with the same (or a similar) story.
The reboot of the Batman series worked out since the movies that came out in the 90's were just awful and Nolan wanted to make the dark, gritty Batman; which the character has been since the start of the comics.
If you're comparing the Ang Lee-directed version from a few years ago with the newest one that had Edward Norton as Banner/Hulk, the new one didn't just change the lead actor. It had a whole new cast and new director; plus it had an actual Hulk villain as opposed to the suggestion that his father ended up being similar to the Hulk villain, The Absorbing Man. When I realized that plot suggestion, it reminded me of the first Batman movie by Tim Burton that came up with the idiotic idea that The Joker was the one to kill Bruce Wayne's parents before he actually became The Joker.

B: gone the route of the original Batman series and just replace the directors and or cast. no need to start a whole new series 9 years after the first movie! i mean the new hulk only had a new actor... it didn't completely write off the last film.
