Well, looks like there finally doing it. Sonic 4 was just announced to come out this summer. Of course Sega is behind the making of Sonic the hedgehog 4: Episode 1, but the developer is Dimps.
As many of you remember, Sonic was at his peak back when he was the beloved gaming marsupial for Sega Genesis. Revisiting the 2D franchise sounds like a step in the right direction, because lately the sonic games have been "sucking" lately with negative reviews. It looks like the game will be in 3D, and won't retain its graphics back in the old day like Megaman, and this looks promising enough already.
Unfortunately, the game will be one player. There will be no co-op. This episode doesn't have Tails and Knuckles. The article in GI states that Sonic has all his moves, including his homing attack. The game features a cliffhanger if you don't get all the emeralds. There's no guarantee Sonic can Super-ize himself. The game will be available for download in summer.
Well, this game is sticking to its roots, but the only difference is that Sonic is in HD format and flashy 3-D. And if your looking for the first decent Sonic game for the past 16 years, this game just may answer you prayers.
All I can say is that it is about time they did this, and I hoped your as psyched as I am.
