Search bar enhancement

This is actually weird, and the mods might be tired of me on here, but i was trying to find another thread so i dont double post or double thread, however you want to call it,about a problem i had and this idea hit me. I saw the guy the came up with the search bar idea so that you can use it while you're in the forums, but what if there was a simple advanced feature that allows you to set which forum to search through. Like when i searched "quote misplacement" It gave me posts that had the word quote in it, but there wasn't even one i found that was in the forum i wanted to search through(this one). So does any have an opinon on this idea.

An "advanced search" feature for the search engine?

Now that is something we could totally use. If every website has one, why can't we?

Yeah i was imagining it like that, but there was somthing that my idea didn't match w/ yours, but anyways that's the sortof reason i wanted this. srry when i looked i couldn't find your thread, if only there was an easier way the search bar led me directly to your thread with the same title

well um... how do i put this... i just searched "search bar" in the search bar (search search search search search lmfao :rofl:

really? Huh, found other things. Any ways it might be a good feature that specifically searches thread titles with the included word.

well thats true with what you said to me, but it COULD sort of come in handy if you typed "but it COULD sort of come in handy" i'd come up with this thread. if you typed "but" then you'd get every thread there was. but you'd have to be exact with you're words so that wouldnt be good. :baffled:

and i was actually thinking about how useful it would be if you could type in a keyword for a subject and find not only threads with that word in it, but ones that are about it, but dont have the word in its name. very helpful. could also help reduce duplicate threads

Yeah keywords and a keyword search would be great...

I don't totally like the idea of tags. Yes it can be helpful but just look at youtube and jow that went. Now if there was a certain key for maybe a subject like boosting or something, but the tags just seem to be cofusing after or at a point if its not put together well. Now this thread is about the search bar. True tags r commonly found in searches but maybe start a different thread(srry)

what happened with youtube? the only problem there that im aware of is google buying them and the hiring of copyright monkeys to delete all audio from vids and half the videos on the site. that and they put a shit load of ads everywhere on the site

ok first, SAAAAAYYYYYYY WAT ABOUT copyrights, google and youtube( answer in PM) :-O. And i was referring to how the tags they use can totally misslead you to a totally different vid. And I'm just semi-afraid that tags might make the problem I'm trying to solve worse.
