About a month ago, Microsoft unleashed USB memory support for the Xbox 360 allowing you to store gamertags, game saves, and any downloads that you have on your console right on a flash drive. All that stuff is now easily transferred from one console to another which insanely nice.
Am I right, Xbox 360 owners of America?
Well, those of you with deep pockets and an affinity for licensed products will be excited today because SanDisk has unveiled the first ever licensed Xbox 360 USB flash drives in both the 8GB and 16GB variety.
While on the surface this appears to be great news, the prices are absolutely ridiculous, although, when you purchase one you get a free months Xbox Live Gold subscription.
And a free lanyard but only if you purchase one today.
I am not kidding.
The 8GB version is going to set you back a cool $34.99 while the 16GB flash drive only costs $69.99. That's getting close to extortion so I'd advise most of you to look for a flash drive elsewhere until these prices go down. The quality is probably there but for the price, I have a feeling most of you with a 360 are going to pass.
Although I have to say, that lanyard is pretty tempting.
