Plasma's will give you a better, sharper image than LCD. With Plasma's you are able to view it from different angles as opposed to most LCD's. The big down side to Plasma's is it consumes a lot of electricity and gets very hot which lessens it's life cycle. If you are going to pony up some cash for a t.v I would highly recommend you look into LED t.v.'s. I have had an LCD, Plasma and an LED in my house. With an LED you consume very little energy and still get the same crystal clear image as you would with a plasma and all the great benefits that you would with an LCD. Pretty much an LED is beefed up LCD.

Yea basically what ever kind of tv you decide to buy, regardless of the type, you pretty much always get what you pay for. My tv was about $800 when I bought it and I cant complain except the odd time I have to turn it off then back on to get the sound to stop cutting in and out. I can deal with it though.

I agree with Crawford. I have a 40 in. Sony Bravia LCD TV. I have no problems with mine. Great picture. It's whatever you prefer to get.
