I am sorta interested in Dragon Age 2. I've been looking at videos and it looks pretty sick. I played the first one, it was okay. But I didnt get into it that much. Mainly because of other games that were out at the time.
Do you think playing part one is important? Or could I just jump right into Dragon Age 2?

yes. bioware games are almost always big on story, and so usually (from the ones ive played) the sequel branches right off of, if not right after, where the first one left off. like in ME, the 2nd one was RIGHT where the first one left off, basically. so for story purposes, YES. play the first one
the only thing i didnt like about the first one, if youre like me, you keep wanting to hit the attack button again and again in combat to keep striking...but in da1, you only have to hit a to attack the target, and then he auto-attacks until they die. then you hit a to attack the new target, n it keeps going like that pretty much for combat. unless of course you use your spells/talents but thats diff.
and from what i read in the GI, the 2nd one takes place pretty much partially during and like just after the first ones story, so id say play it first to get a feel. but, whats improved in the 2nd, is combat (like you have to hit attack every time or he stands there) and some other things. hawke (your char in the 2nd one) sounds like a badass tho
