Prince of Persia: The Forgtten Sands

Just some quick thoughts. First I unlike many of you loved the PoP game that released a couple years ago. But this one, even though I've only played for about an hour or so, is pretty dissapointing! It looks very much like a rushed product. The graphics are decent, but thats about all I see so far. I just am hoping that it gets better. I had such high hopes for a new Ubisoft game because of their previous titles. And I pray to God, even though I'm not a believer, that the new Assassin's Creed isn't being rushed!

until then I'm gonna go play more Alan Wake!!!

What are the platforming and combat controls like? That new cel-shaded PoP? Or original Sands of Time? Or crazy ass combat like Two Thrones and Warrior Within?

I liked that new-ish PoP ok, I just didn't enjoy it as much as Sands of Time which seriously blew my mind with how neat and fun it was.

I liked PoP:SOT, and it's 2 sequels on the PS2.
I LOVED the Prince of Persia reboot for xbox 360.
I HATED PoP: CLASSIC remake for xbox live arcade
I just for PoP:TFS from gamefly..so i'm about to go try it out!

Ive liked all the PoP's altho i havent played the classic remake on arcade. Got this today via gamefly as well but havent got a chance to try it out. The prince looks hideous in this one though, he looks like a mix of the Prince+Sloth...i heard the controls r pretty good though, u use RT now to wall run and such and when ur hangin on a ledge u use RT to go sideways or up and u use jump to jump backwards which should remove alot of annoying dying sequences once u get the hang of the new controls.

I dont like this one at all. Compared to the big budget reboot from 2008/2009 this game is horrible. Alot of people hated the reboot because, it became mainly platforming, and it changed princes, and the story and what not... but at least it was a full scale game. it was developed from the get go to be a great game. this one PoP:TFS seems like they just pushed this thing out as quick as possible to coincide with the release of the film.

this game sucks in comparison to the reboot, and it is a stain on the face of the very good PoP trilogy from the last gen consoles.

p.s. the voice acting.... is fucking horrendous

played it for about an hour and racked up some easy achieves, got about 220 pts i think...overall i dont think its THAT bad, i mean its not amazing yet and the prince is just plain hideous to look at, but the game itself controls pretty good and the combats pretty slick compared to the last one. havent got to use any powers yet besides time rewind.

Yeah, I mean it's not the WORST game ever. But to me it just feels cheap and hollow. The controls are nice and the platforming is OK. but you can clearly see it has taken a lot from assassins creed and the newer tomb raiders. It just doesn't feel like a complete game. which makes it a piece of shit in my book.

i really liked the PoP trilogy on the last gen but i never got a chance to finish any of them lol. the cel shaded one that came out recently looked really nice and was fun for a platformer/puzzler, but didn't have enough action that i was use to with the PoP series.

The Forgotten Sands looks good and i'll probably check it out in the future, but it's not a must for me at the moment.

I'm kinda getting into the game, it's just not very hard and not up to my standards for what is a key Ubisoft franchise. It's kinda taking Assassin's Creed and releasing a 2D side scroller for the 360 like the one for the iphone!

Maybe someday we will get a sequel to the 2008 PoP! I haven't played the epilogue yet, but the game just didn't seem to have a proper ending!

i like how the prince on the cover of the game looks normal but then in game he looks like his face got smashed in with a shovel

The new POP was actually pretty damn good
I'm glad they kind of "filled the gap" between one and two
and the non cel-shaded graphics were a plus
Don't get me wrong
I didn't hate the last POP
but it wasn't great
This one, definitely made up for it :]
