I just found out that the 360 memorizes where you where on a dvd when you take it out. I was earlyer watching a dvd of scrubs and took it out to play a game and then put the dvd back in the 360 and it went right back to where i was on the dvd. im not sure who already knows this but I had to let the ppl that didnt know

Hell yeah, I love this feature.

What I also love is that, as long as you are using component or better cables, the 360 upscales DVDs to 480p, and if you use the VGA or HDMI cables it can even upscale them to 1080p.

Not quite Blu-ray but it does make movies look really nice and clean, even on absurdly large TVs. I also like how well it can stretch images if need be.

lol who needs bluerays? dvds have been doing the job for years.

lol i figured everyone who owned a 360 and a dvd would kno of this feature, i dont see the point in buying blu-rays even though i have a ps3, ill go with the cheaper option that looks just as nice on my HDTV, thats what nice TVs are for.

I hate to make this argument but you are sorely wrong on how the looks of bluray compared to dvd. I bought Avatar on Bluray and it came with the DVD as well. I compared the both of them, at the same time. Bluray in PS3 and DVD in the 360. The Bluray is worlds apart from the DVD in every aspect, whether it is sound or video.

Another comparison, We own Grease on both Bluray and DVD and the difference is AMAZING between the two. The bluray makes the movie, look like it was filmed yesterday, instead of yesteryear, lol.

Because of the difference, I always look for blurays first but if something is only available via dvd, then I will go with the dvd obviously.

blu-rays are better even the up-scaling on dvds suck to me i did a movie comparison with Coraline BIG difference, it grinds my gears when people say that there is no difference between the 2 nothing personal at all thats stupid unless you have a ctr tv rockin a blu-ray player

i dont buy dvds too often and most of the dvds i do buy are seasons of shows i like(dexter, burn notice, how i met your mother) so i dont really mind saving the 10 bucks just buyin it on dvd since i dont care too much, all looks good on my HDTV

I love watching movies on the 360. The only thing I hate is the Netflix Instant Stream HDMI glitch.

sometimes when you are watching instant stream movies with HDMI you'll lose audio.

never knew there was a glitch, but to me stream hit that "HD" quality as long as you have high speed internet

what Junior said. Blu Rays and regular DVDs are VERY different when you compare them on the right tv. it doesn't matter to me though since i'm not too picky and since most DVDs i watch are animes which i'm not too worried about the picture quality on those xD that and anime DVDs aren't that common.

and yes, to the OP, that feature is awesome and very useful. it's so much easier to let the 360 remember where you are for you so you don't have to spend time switch through chapters next time you want to continue the movie lol. one thing though....does this feature take up memory? because i'm sure it adds up with each new DVD you put in, so there must be a way to delete the memory of DVDs you're done with?

I know there is a difference between DVD and Blu-Ray, but there's no way that I could care less. The jump in quality is not proportionate to the jump in price. If you guys have the money to throw around, fine, but I work my ass off every day and I assure you it's not to buy another copy of Braveheart that looks 2 times better for 4 times the price.

Brie and I put our DVDs together on a shelf, and have a hugeee collection. I've always said that I would only buy one blu-ray, that being FFVII Advent Children. I still haven't purchased that however, because I can't justify $30 for it. I never wanted to mess up my movie collection because I'm so anal about it, so that's one reason I never wanted to get BRs.

I got my dad a Bluray player for Christmas, and one movie (Julie and Julia), and didn't see a lot of difference, but I also didn't compare. The audio was crisp, the picture was crisp, but I didn't really care just because it wasn't a movie that BR can really shine on. I went home a few months later and watched Up, and was floored by the quality of it. I still haven't seen a really good action flick on br yet.

I want to start a collection, but I would only buy BRs at cheap prices (I see many $10 ones of movies I like at Walmart and what not), and I don't know where to put them. I'd have to get them their own shelf, or something.

My book is finished now.
