It's that time of year again, folks! Wizards of the Coast released Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 earlier this week.
Who else has it or is going to grab it? I'm sofa king surprised that they only charge $10/800msp instead of the expected 1200.
On top of that, if the game detects a MtG2012 save, you get a free deck key which you can use to quickly unlock an entire deck or make one all "premium foil" (I swear to drugs I don't understand the point of this).
Instead of giving away a single promotional card with the game, Magic 2013 gives you a code for a whole promo booster pack! It does still contain a specific Mythic Rare card.
You still can't manually adjust lands but each deck in 2013 starts with 30 unlockable cards, so weehaw!
If anyone wants to trade "losses" online to unlock a bunch real fast, or just play a few friendly games, you're welcome to holler at me.
Oh yeah, the gimmick this year is Planeschase mode which is a 4-person FFA gametype but with a big plane card & die that adds a variety of possible effects--sort of like Archmage except the scheme cards are autonomous and you can choose to burn mana to roll the die or not.
