Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection

So I bought the MK Arcade Kollection on "cyber Monday" even though I had already bought UMK3 way back when.

It has been really fun playing through 1 and 2. Amazingly, I have been able to have matches of the original MK with people in Mexico and junk. It is a touch laggy, but I much prefer slow gameplay and 1:1 moves over "network smoothing" like in SSF2THDR.

Anyway, my question is, how do you do Animalities in MK3? I never really played 3 back in the day and I literally have never performed an animality. Does it work something like Friendships or Babalities where you can't use the punch buttons during the winning round or ?

It works like the friendships and babalities. When your in fighting with a character, go to the pause menu. It shows the combination to do it. I can help if you would like.

For an Animality you can't block during the last round AND your opponent must have won one round prior to you finishing him, when you finish him you have to first give him mercy THEN hit him again and do the input...it's kind of a pain in the ass

"This is easily the hardest of the "alities" to perform. First of all it can only be performed in UMK3, secondly you have to fight to a third round i.e. you win one then lose one and thirdly you have to perform a "Mercy" on your opponent. A mercy is performed at the "finish him" screen you stand on the opposite side of the screen from your opponent, hold the run button (LB) press down 3 times then release the run button. At this point the screen will go dark and you'll hear Shao Kahn say "(character) shows mercy", and your opponent will gain a small sliver of health back. Once you beat your opponent into the "finish him" screen a second time then you can then perform the Animality. I used Sektor very simple: stand next to your opponent and push Towards, Towards, Down, Up once you've completed this extensive list of criteria "DING" the achievement will be yours"
