How you got this far.

Had an idea for a good discussion as to where you started off your gaming career at (system wise and what game) and what led you up to this point.

I saw a similar thread while searching but it was almost 2 years old and archived so I figured why not start one similar?

For me, I started off old-school with Nintendo 64, moved to playstation 1, then PS2, then finally 360 in August 06'. Played a bit of Command&Conquer on PC when I felt like it.

Pretty sure Spryo was my first game on PS1, and Crash: Wrath of Cortex first on PS2. Killzone 1 was my first ever online game on PS2. Battlefield 2: Modern Combat was my first online game on 360, then Gears of War 1. Got into Call of Duty once 4 came out and got pretty good ran with good team for a long time.

Got the achievement itch in my alone time playing games when I wasn't playing matches with others. And kept playing games I wanted to in spare time when I could and here I be, awaiting the next arrival of fall games like every past year.

I started with my parent's Atari 2600. I used to amaze their friends when I was 4 by how good I was at Missile command. I got an original NES for Christmas when I was 8 or 9. All of my friends got Segas and SNESs so I played at their houses. I bought an N64 just to play Ocarina of Time and then traded it in for a ps1. (I still have it btw.)

I bought a ps2 the day after launch. Two weeks later, it wouldn't read discs. I took it back and had it replaced. Twice more I had to replace new ps2s for the same thing. I got my money back and pretty much stopped gaming until Fable came out. I played it for about 10 minutes at my buddy's house and promptly went to our game store and bought an xbox and Fable.

That same friend eventually talked me into getting a 360 a few weeks after launch and I've been hooked ever since!

Similar to EVOL I started with Atari 2600. Pitfall and Donkey Kong were my go-to games on that. Got a NES for my B-day a short time after it came out. Played way to many of those games to even remember. Stlll have my NES but only have Tysons Punchout, Metroid, Zelda & Tecmo bowl.

Next was SNES & then Sega Genesis..Spent several years playing Mario Kart & NHL 94.
Moved on to N64 next where Goldeneye & Ocirana of Time consumed every free minute of my life.

A few PS1's & PS2's later I got my 360 in 2007. Since then I have bought & sold a couple Ps3's I Wii's

My mom bought an NES with the original Mario Bro./Duckhunt game and Gunsmoke. I use to play them all the time, my mom and grandparents use to think it was cool how I just automatically knew how to play without looking at anything but the box cover art.

I played the NES and then got a Sega Genesis with Streets of Rage and then came the N64 with Mario64. We moved to North Carolina when I was 15 and I ended up getting a Playstation with Tomb Raider and a few other games but i got the flu and wasn't able to take anything out of there boxes yet.

After that came the PS2 which I had for a long time. Until it went out, I don't remember what age I got it but I believe it was right before I graduated high school.

The funny story about the 360. I was dating this chick, and right before we broke up I let her borrow $200. We broke up and I hounded her for my money, so she came to the apartment while I was at work, dropped off her keys, all my stuff, PLUS my $200. Right then I packed up all the PS2 games that I had left because my PS2 had burnt up (and I was selling all my games independantly to co-workers) and cashed everything in at our only local game store GameCrazy and racked.fucking.up. Only spent $80 out of pocket for the console, an extra controller, battery rechargable pack, and 6 games.

The rest, is fucking history my friends.

We started off with a ColecoVision and a Commodore 64 drive that we had hooked up to an
8 inch black & white TV. My favorite ColecoVision games were Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr. and Time Pilot. We never had an Atari but all our friends did. We then got a NES for Christmas one year along with an bunch of cheap-ass games like The Three Stooges Game, Win Lose or Draw and Rocket Ranger. My favorite NES games were all the Mario titles, Tecmo Bowl, Super Base Wars and Bad News Bears Baseball. We then got a Genesis and my favorites for that were the Joe Montana Football games and the early EA sports titles especially the very first NHL game.

We had a SNES at my dad's house but I never really got into it that much. I got a Playstation when I moved into my first apartment in Toledo. Didn't have cable so I played Tenchu Stealth Assassins and Civilization II for hours upon hours until we ended up getting a Nintendo 64; loved Mario Party and Conker's Bad Fur Day. Then I gamed on nothing but my PS2 (SOCOM and GH) until I finally got a next gen consul. Let Evol talk me into getting a 360 and haven't looked back.

I started out occasionally playing Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt on NES at a friends house when I was five, but didn't really get hooked into gaming until I played the first Command & Conquer on PC about seven years later; although for a time I did play a little bit on the original Gameboy that my brother and I got for Christmas around the time it came out.

After that I played mostly on PC playing Age of Empires, Red Alert, and The Sims for the next couple of years until I bought a N64 and played Mario Kart, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Donkey Kong.

After about four years on N64, I decided to look into buying a new console but had no idea what to get; I had been seeing advertising for this new system from Microsoft called Xbox, but had doubts that a software company could do justice to a home game console -- however I ended up deciding to get one just to give it a chance to change my mind, and boy did it (especially with a little game called Halo).

From that point, the rest has been almost exclusively Xbox and/or 360 for the past ten years. Now I'm looking forward to some of the big releases coming out in the next couple of months; Gears 3, Halo Anniversary, and of course Skyrim.

The first game I remember playing is, no joke, E.T. for the Atari. Yeah, the one that almost destroyed the games industry.

But as for when I started getting into gaming, thats when I got the Genisis. Sonic 2 had my full attention for years and its still one of my favorite games ever. Later in, got the N64, Gamecube, sold that for the XBOX (Halo 2), which followed with the Xbox 360, which I love very very much. Got the Wii and PS3 since, but whatever.

Stand out games of my youth:

Sonic series, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Pokemon Red, Legend of Zelda: OoT, Super Mario 64, GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Ogre Battle 64, Army Men 64, F-Zero GX, Halo 1 & 2

I'm a 28 year old lifelong gamer from Slidell, Louisiana. I started playing video games when I was 3 on the Atari 2600. Then when I was 5 I got an NES and never looked back. I had a C64, SNES, All the Gameboy systems, N64, GCN, PS2, Xbox, Wii, and last year I bought my 360. I almost never owned a 360 as one of my friends will tell you. I swore I'd never buy one, but I bought of for my brother and played it and loved it so much I bought one for me. I Just bought my 400th game last week and I have no plans of slowing down.

The first game I remember playing is Mega man 4 on the Nes. I still find myself playing it from time to time
