New here, so I want to introduce myself.
My G/T is Mo the Surfer, because I used to do a lot of surfing. I am a dad now, so that was one thing that had to go...along with many others.
I am 42 years old, which, yes, makes me an old guy. GOG - grouchy old guy.
I am not good with humor, though I have tried all my life to be funny. My delivery always comes out backwards, upside down, perverted or just plain wrong; so I have given up. Subtly is also one of those aspects of the English language that I don't have a handle on. Either I am too subtle or too obvious, so I don't bother with it, either. Political correctness can go jump in a lake.
I am a business owner, house painting, but it doesn't define who I am. Construction has too many stereotypical bad guys, so I tend to shy away from telling people what my line of work is by telling them that I own a business. Besides, I would have to drink every day if I were a painter.
Collecting achievements (ach's) is a hobby for me, and I am trying not to be a total glutton...trying. I know most other gamers call it G/S wh0ring, but that isn't something that I can say in front of my kids, so I don't use that term.
I am originally from RI. I joined the US Navy (when it wasn't popular), to "get out" as my friends from home call it. I was stationed on an air craft carrier, the US Nimitz (CVN-68) homeported in Norfolk, VA. Our homeport was changed to Bremerton, WA. I loved the west coast so when I got out, I stayed.
I spent my mid to late 20's in the bicycle racing community, trying to be Lance. I never made it that far, but it kept me in really great shape. I should probably get back to riding...nah, gaming is much more fun.
Met my wife in early 90's, we were married in 97. She is a tomboy/engineer (UW school of engineering), so she isn't your typical housewife. She is also a gamer and a programmer. Her G/S is just over 10K. We have 3 boys, all gamers (doh!), but they spend more time with the DS's or the wee-wee.
I love co-op games, I don't like competitive MP games. The Halo 3 MP community ruined it for me. I did earn my MVP ach without boosting in a 6v6 capture the flag. A few players from the other team decided to go off on me after the match. That was it.
I am a fair FPS player, but if you are looking for a strong player for 'endure' look elsewhere. Unless you want to 'carry' me. In that case...ok.
