well im using my old hard drive on my new one so my downloads and my gamertag was on there so i just told it to use that gamertag. but it wont auto sign-in. then again i can only use my downloads when on xbox live but i dont get dsl at my house so it kinda sux

I think there is a way in the system blade to set up auto-sign in

now if there was only a way to get back my downloads without having to go back to my core edition. other then goin on xbox live that is.

yea i know i called the 360 customer support line and this lady read me the rules and regs on it and how i can only play them on the xbox they were downloaded and when im signed into xbox live

Yeah, sorry about that. That's the bad thing about it, not being able to re-download the games for free on the same gamertag on a different machine, especially if you spend thousands of MS points on arcade titles then your machine dies.

yea tell me about it. thats why i want to get my core fixed and use that as my basic gaming xbox and use my premium for xbox live. since i do like my premium more.

Well, you can get a free data transfer cable that takes everything to your Elite, but wipes the base HDD:

And yes, you CAN re-download everything for free, you just cannot play XBLA games without being connected to live.
