I'm quite enjoying this thread. I don't really get offended when people rip on female gamers, I'd just rather take the fight to the game THEN talk :laugh:

I can understand women and girls being somewhat offput by the amount of vitriol they'll get from random XBL matches, so I think it can definitely help to have clans like PMS and Gamerchix and other stuff where they can have the benefits of a nice environment with supportive people to help them jump in.

A lot of us take it for granted because 1) we already have friends we game with and 2) we expect the crazy shit from people on XBL.

I do also think it's important, though, for girl gamers to eventually wade into deeper waters and learn to deal with random online crap because they won't be able to grow in skill much or have as much fun if they keep playing with just the same few people. And I also feel that a moderate amount of trash talk is healthy and encourages fiercer competition!
