get rid of feedback rating system

This system is useless on this forum and creates more enemies and fights than what it should be used for. The moderators don't need this feature and instead the report a post function should be all that is used in order to find a post that breaks the rules or whatever.

Trolls on this forum abuse this feature and make members look worse or better than what they really are.

Please remedy this issue.

I +'ed you. I'm pretty sure this has been brought up before but it's still a feature. I dunno. I know a lot of people aren't a fan of it, though.

The feature is never used on any other big forums and it shouldn't be used here. Since it became a feature, members have been more negatively effected by it than positively. Our XBA experience shouldn't be hindered because people wanna be immature and negative every post a person makes and positive just their friends.

I admit I have done it, but its silly. This feature should be removed immediately and a big report post button in its place if people think someones post is out of line.

I would like it if it only had the +'s. Some forums are like that, and you can just scroll down the posts to see which one has the most and will help you the best.

Yeah like we could have a system called XBA Gamerscore, in which members could award achievement points for posts. And a member can only hand out so many Gamerscore points a day. Members could then build up points for their xba gamerscore, by helping other members or having awesome threads. Would be a nice positive system for this forum.

Those are both good ideas, to remove completely and have a big report button or to just have +'s.

I'll send Jackson a message and point him to this thread.

Anyone else have an opinion on this matter, do make your voice heard and post in this thread so Jackson will see it.

I am fine with the system if it was used properly, where +'s are only for very helpful posts and -'s are only given for abusive or extremely off-topic/trolling posts, but obviously it is rarely used that way so I do think a change is in order.

I personally like AJ's idea of just having +1s to locate the best/most useful posts. Like Junior said the nagatives are mostly used by the trolls and douchebags who don't like someone or can't seem to respect another person's opinion.

The only time i see anyone getting negged they usually made a dumbass post that was worth being negged for.

I usually only + up posts I aree, don't neg that often unless it's sigma.

Same here. Its like no matter what he says.... instant -1.

But yeah, I think just having the +'s is the best way to go.

Being as some asshat, or 2 really, -1'ed every post in the thread, I have +1'ed every post.

I support throwing it out. It is mis used frequently.

Or as suggested before REQUIRE a REASON for a -1. AND SHOW THE NAME IN A DROP DOWN BOX TO CATCH ABUSERS.

I think that making a big deal about it only feeds into the people who do the shit. I've never sweated the post ratings so whatever. Keep it or lose it, there's no way I could care less.
