Cleaned it up and added some links; very interesting. I was a huge fan of Gears 1 MP, never could get into the MP in Gears 2. I'm sure it didn't help that I stayed away from months and when I came back some huge updates changed everything I thought I had learned. Gears 2 has to be credited with the originators of Horde mode, though, which is mighty fun.
I own the first two, I'm sure I will pick this one up as well.

I think most of us just get spoiled on other games, Gears 1&2 where great games!

Yeah I'm super exited for this. GOW (this one and the one on the PS3 
) is my favorite game franchise, head and shoulders above Halo and Call of Duty, IMO.
I didn't like the MP on GOW2 when it first came out, but after a few months I went back and it was great. They had all the bugs patched and it was super fun. Hopefully GOW3 will be just as good, MP and Campaign.

Gears of War was the reason i bought the 360 played it until GOW 2 came out, 2 was awesome espically horde love those levels . Cant wait till 3 comes out love Cliffy B s work.

I am a diehard Gears fan, have all the figures, both novels, all 11 comics so far, and both Collectors Editions of the game..hopefully they make a really cool Collectors Edition for this Gears of War 3 as well.

I really enjoyed both games' campaigns, especially going back and ding them on Insane with a friend in co-op. Horde mode in 2 was very, very awesome.
I only ever played a few hours of each game's MP mode though, so I'm curious--what is it about 2's MP that turned so many people off? What little bit I played didn't seem very different except for some weird things with the ink grenades.

This. In gears 2 they fixed everything that wasn't broken to shut up little cod/halo-boy-bitch. "How comez meh shotgun not as strong az his" so, no host advantage. "Okay whatever" oh wait now I can't move or anything, and on top of that it's even more unbalanced. So they attempted to fix host (when most gears fans liked/didn't mind it, I mean a good player used more strategy when facing host or could body the host either way) and the ended up just making the game slow/boring. I'll get this game CE to complete the collection but, I doubt I will even be able to tolerate the online.
Random fact: I hate those douches that only played gears 2, they should be shot(no offense to anyone here).

I tried the first one and sucked at it. It was one of the first games I had gamefly send me when I first got my 360. Ask Evol how bad I was at the MP when PhatCodyLee had that gaming party.

As long as the multiplayer isnt as bad as 2 its ok.
I loved 1 had thousands of hours on multiplayer, it was great. 2 just changed too much. Hopefully 3 will be AMAZING.
