Loved FFX. I spent so much time on that game. Played the hell out of Blitzball (once I figured out what to actually do) and completed everyone's sphere grids (almost 300 hours!).

Blah blah blah, let me have a shot at this. But first, I'll start with a little knowledge for some people who seem to need it here:

Lol everyone arguing and crying over OPINIONS. Really, does it hurt some of you that much when someone voices their opinion and say how much they like or dislike a certain game? Does it really change the way you think because someone doesn't agree with you? It's sickening how some people can't live or shut up unless their opinion is law and everyone has to agree with it.
Final Fantasy is a love it or hate it thing. But to say it's the "crappiest" game, that just shows how close minded and ignorant you are. It's nice to know that this "crappy" game has been successful for over 2 decades, made Squaresoft/Square Enix billions, and has millions of fans worldwide. The way I see it, the ones who hate Final Fantasy and/or Square Enix are either a)jealous that their favorite game/company aren't as successful, b)hate them because it's the "cool" thing to do, or c)racist/xenophobic against foreign games in general (rarely, but it happens). The series isn't for everyone, and that goes for all JRPGs in general. Simply put, people enjoy different types of games. Final Fantasy isn't for everyone, just because you don't like it doesn't give you any valid reason to bash it.
If you dislike FFXIII or Final Fantasy in general, try stating it in a way that doesn't make you sound like an uneducated prick. Phrase it so that it's YOUR opinion, not a be all end all bash. Try saying something like "FFXIII wasn't for me, I didn't like it because it was too linear and I'm not into JRPGs.", that sounds much better than "FFXIII sucks, it's a crappy and horrible game and whoever likes it is dumb".
Onto the topic of Final Fantasy though. I grew up with Final Fantasy as my JRPG of choice, and I've enjoyed the series since I was little. I'm a huge fan of the series, my first and favorite FF is FFIX, I can replay it again and again and never get tired of it. FFXIII was fun and I enjoyed it, but it was far from good, an average game at best IMO because of how linear it is and the lack of sidequests that the series is known for. I'm excited for FFXIII-2, even though there are other Square Enix games that I'd rather have over it, but if they want a second chance at making FFXIII a better game, then I'll give them a chance and see what they can come up with.
People just need to grow up a bit mentally and learn that there's a wide world out there with billions of people whom all have their own views/opinions. Quit being so ignorant and thinking just because you say a game is bad, anyone else who disagrees has to be wrong and not normal.
Heh, I decide to check on this site and possibly come back and start posting here again, then I noticed this FFXIII-2 thread and decided to take a read. Didn't think the community here was THIS controversial about this. From skimming through the thread, it seems like Melissa is the only one for RPGs, with a few people who enjoy an RPG or two here and there, and everyone else just despises Final Fantasy or RPGs in general lol. Also, just for the record, I'm not siding with anyone here but myself. I, like everyone else here, is entitled to my own opinion on this matter. I'm not here to call out anyone on what they think, I just hate it when people believe that their opinion is absolute and everyone has to see it the same way.

yeah, no. X was good, but to go as far as best game ever..period? you sir, offend every great game out there. i love LoZ: ocarina of time, it still ranks #1 as my most favorite game ever. i spent well into 3 years playing it and master quest just gaining all the secret items. but would i say its the greatest game ever..period? no. please rephrase X as "in your opinion, greatest game in the series" or "your most favorite game ever" or something that doesnt imply that it is the greatest thing since swiss cheese. or just gtfo, and take that emo fagknot shirt with you. because there are many many many many many many mayo many maya many many mooyo many games out there that would rank above it. (in my opinion FF VII for starters)

My favorite of the FF series has to be FF VIII. Loved the characters, story, GF's and all around gameplay.
My favorite RPG ever is and will always be Chrono Trigger. There was over 10 different endings depending on when you went to the last boss. I loved all the characters, especially Crono, Frog, and Magus. Well Robo was a badass too, especially when you get their double character attacks.
My favorite RPG of this gen would have to be Lost Odyssey. The graphics are amazing, the battle system is great, the story is awesome, but that damn treasure trove achievement was a bitch. My second favorite RPG of this gen would have to be Tales of Vesperia. RPGs are my absolute favorite genres and my least favorite are fighting and that's only because I suck really really badly at them.

i thought the junction system was really odd.... but VIII was a great game. and lost odyssey was just wow. loved it.

And I'm glad I saw some people liking The Legend of Dragoon. Besides FFVII, LoD was my favorite game for the Playstation. I put a ton of hours into this game and beat it about 5 times.

Just picked up my copy. I am not liking the Collector's Edition case. Wish it would have came with an actual plastic case for the game that I could take out of the Collector's case.
