Well, as most of you have probably heard, F.E.A.R. 3 (or F.3.A.R. as it is affectionately being referred to), has been announced to be in development. A trailer can be viewed by going here, and was posted compliments of Shock. Well, now we've got even more juicy details for your inquisitive minds! Read on!
Apparently, the game was originally hinted at through a leaked image (the image above) from a Spanish magazine. Assuming they had no choice, WB has since officially announced its development. With any luck, it seems that the nickname F.3.A.R. has been dropped, and the much more likable title of F.E.A.R. 3 is going to be the name going forward.
The credits in this game look to be awesome, with horror movie buff John Carpenter acting as a consultant, and Steve Niles, writer of the recently released vampire movie 30 Days of Night, co-writing the game's script. Martin Tremblay, President of Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment, also announced the dev team:
Unattributed Quote:
For those unaware, Day 1 was the dev team that brought the original F.E.A.R. to consoles. So Day 1, collaborating with Monolith, sounds like it could be the scariest F.E.A.R. yet! Well now, that was all interesting, but you want some game details, you say? Well, let's see what we have:
Apparently, F.E.A.R. 3's story will revolve around Point Man and Paxton Fettel, the two sons of Alma. Co-op will be available, and indeed pushed, as single player you will control Point Man, a genetically-enhanced super soldier, and initiating co-op will allow your partner to play as Fettel. Sounds like its shaping up to be pretty interesting. F.E.A.R. 3 is slated for a rather ambitious Autumn 2010 release. Keep your eyes peeled for more info as it becomes available.
