Far Cry 4, one of my most anticipated titles of the year after Destiny. This will be one real quick review since I've seen nothing about the game on the site.
First off, it's fantastic. I played about 8 hours yesterday and an hour this morning, sitting at 315/1000 for achievements.
Think Far Cry 3, but about double the things to do. There's now co-op in campaign, which definitely makes it easier than solo. Solo is still very doable, as with 3, you die more by wildlife than actual people you're fighting.
Driving got an under-haul. Think Warthog controls but very slow to switch from drive to reverse. There's an auto-drive because the driving is so bad. You can place a waypoint and click the left stick and magically arrive at your destination while paying no mind to the road. You can shoot as well during this. Don't trust the auto-drive, however. I've been driven off a cliff, into the ocean, and into an elephant. I died every time.
Speaking of elephants, you can now ride them and use them as a weapon of mass destruction. I won't give away details but you can probably guess how awesome that is.
Guns, guns, guns. So many guns. Maybe 100+ in all with sidearms, primary, and signature weapons. There's also no shortage of explosives/mines/c4/grenades.
Story: The main character's name is AJ(ay). So obviously get this game immediately. I'm a few missions in of the 32 available story missions which can probably be completed in around 10 hours if that's what you focus on.
Every outpost you liberate will generate a few extra missions tied to achievements. You only need 3 of each type of mission, so don't think you'll be playing pointless missions forever.
New predators. The most shocking new wildlife is the Demon Fish. If you've seen the show River Monsters, you've seen it. Eagles are a nuisance. They'll mess you up. They'll also carry off a boar if they feel the need.
Controls are smooth, graphics are great. It's set in the Mountains of Tibet, so there may be a yeti or 2 around.
Achievements are slow to pop on XB1, sometimes hours after you should've gotten them. So that's frustrating. I'll guesstimate around 30-40 hours for the completion.
All around I'll give it a 9/10 for the terrible driving.
UPDATE - 11/24/2014
I'll give everyone a quick update since I'm only lacking a grindy achievement which I should get tonight.
It's only taken me around 25 hours to get all but one achievement. The story is great, and there weren't any huge glitches with anything. There was one case when the game froze, but that's about it.
The actual multiplayer is pretty mediocre and there's an achievement for finishing a game of each of the 3 types. This took a while because not many people play online, so this may be a boosting only thing in the very near future. The couple co-op achievements are very easy and take about 15 minutes for both people to finish them.
There is a missable skill which cannot be earned once you liberate all the outposts. So you'll need to do 2 without being detected for that, easily done on any outpost with a silenced sniper and a good hiding spot.
I'll still stick with my same rating of a 9/10 as I have given earlier in the quick review.
