I beat tested this and wrote a bit about it in random gaming. I had a hard time with the controls but it really felt like an elder scrolls game. I'll be getting it for xb1.

Exactly bro. No one can really say for sure yet if it's worth it or not, but for me personally it's just not economically feasible.

I actually wrote an article for a website regarding this issue and why a subscription fee was a better idea for the game than free to play. I'll try to find my copy and put it up, but basically there are 2 reasons I think it's worth it.
First, I don't know if you ever played psu or the trial, but psu was a fun game full of serious players and the free demo was a bunch of losers looking for naked pictures. If you're seriously interested in an mmorpg that requires you to play with other people, you want those people to have to pay money to get online, not just wander over from cod for a minute to troll.
Also, they've been clear that their monthly dlc and expansions will be free, paid for by the subscriptions. Free to play games get zero support and zero cool expansions and they're riddled with micro-transactions. Games like ffxi and psu had incredible dlc on a monthly basis, and you get hundreds and hundreds of hours out of them.
But for someone who doesn't plan on spending a lot of time in the game, you do get the first month free... maybe you could 1k it by then?

I read that soon after it releases on PC, the ~2 month window before the XB1 release is because of the beta, so we should be able to play it for free up to June, and judge for ourselves, like they did with Titanfall. As a World of Warcraft vet, if you play the game, you keep the subscription. They will most likely NEVER delete your character, so if you find you're not playing it, or want to take a break for a few months, just cancel the subscription, and come back to it later. I've done that periodically with WOW.
Thinking I'll play this & keep the subscription at least from June - November when Dragon Age releases, then I'll think about canceling for a month or two, save $30, and come back to it in a few months. Or not- maybe it'll be that damn good.
