doritos unlock xbox vote and win

Just curious, because I have an email regarding this contest that is claiming I have won in this contest. I think i do remember downloading a gamer pic or whatever needed to win this, but of coarse I'm not sure how trust worthy the email is. It requires full name, address, phone number, and date of birth. The subject in the email is exactly what i titled this thread but it's in all caps. I may be just a little paranoid but, I was just wondering if anyone else here may have received anything like this in the email at all. I contacted microsoft about it and they were of no help, and i went to the contest page to try and contact them but they have no email to contact, and it seems from the support page all the help I can get is by posting in the forum, which i will try. but if anyone here knows that would be great. thanks.

I've actually remember another member winning a Zune from a Doritos/Xbox contest. Sounds to me like you've won.

why the hell would they need your date of birth. looks to closely related to phishing scam as that would be the same info those creeps would need.

For most contests, you need to be at least 18 years of age before you're even eligible for prizes.

any idea who that member may have been? I'm just curious because I thought with contests that you win through xbox live, I thought they would have all the info they needed. I just don't feel so comfortable giving all that info because thats all they need to recover my account.

I mean it starts out saying: someone using this email address has entered the doritos unlock xbox vote and win and then says the gamer tag associated with it. It also has an 800 number at the bottom I'll call tomorrow, but usually the better scams will make it look real...Dunno, I'm not a trusting person online, and like i said, i emailed microsoft support about the email, giving the email address that sent it to me, and what it said and I got an email that looked automated because it offered no help at all, and just warned me that microsoft never gives microsoft points away...which we all know that.

also, it doesn't mention what prize i won...just gives me a deadline to respond with the info or i forfeit any prize that i may have won...

I sent you a PM...
When I won from McDonald's a few years back, I won a Sony PSP. They did the same thing, they sent a email response but, when I got the email, It just didn't look legit. The only reason I trusted it, was because I won on of a peel off code that I submitted online. So, defiantly call the toll free number.

Well I know the member who won the Zune from Doritos, he just got it in the mail - it was a complete surprise to him. It came in a box with a letter that said congratulations you won. I don't think he got any e-mails, I could always ask him

When I was one of the first 100 people to get 200/200 in the Rocky & Bullwinkle XBLA game, I got an e-mail asking for that exact information and not mentioning what the prize was.

It turned out I had won a DVD, I got it a week after responding.

I won stuff from the unlock xbox the last time they did it. I won microsoft points and they mailed me out the points card. I had no problems. If you read the terms and conditions, it says you must be 18 or over to enter:
