The books are great, but honestly, with the high-caliber creative output of the team behind The Clone Wars animated series, I am looking forward to which way they go with the "canon" Star Wars stuff.
Unfortunately, this confirms all the doomsday/2012 theories--a release of Star Wars episode 7?!?! Yup, world is definitely going to end first.

Didn't George Lucas at one time say that he didn't want to be "Star Warsing" for the rest of his life???

The proposed deal that George Lucas has agreed to is for him to sell his company to Disney. So he wont really be making the Star Wars movies anymore. He will remain as a creative consultant. Kathleen Kennedy has been selected to be President of the new LucasFilms division of Disney.

Okay, first->:[>:[>:[>:[>:[>:[>:[>:[>:[>:[>:[ DISNEYYYY~
I was upset when they bought Marvel, now I'm just pure pissed. The biggest sell out selled out. While I was a supporter of many of the new things because I was/am part of the new star wars generation, this just >:X.
Second, I agree with Meta;I have quite a few of the older books-even the Battle of Bakura whuch is a story placed right at the end of Episode 6,essentially an Episode 7.And they are fine just the way they are. Now if Disney makes movies based on the Young Jedi Academy Adventures w/the Solo Twins I'm cool with that.
Third, I definitely agree with PureEvil-especially with her lightsaber. That's right she has one and it's yellow.
/End Star Wars fan rant

People worry about big corporations like Apple, Microsoft. One corporation has gone under the radar. First with the "big bad oil company" in Cars 2, then buying Marvel and now this. This is too much power.

I sense a great disturbance in the Force, and it's not a good one.

I have to agree. I've been a Trekkie way more than a Star Wars geek or whatever the proper term is.

Let's face it, the day Walt Disney the artificial copyrighted trademarked megacorporation goes the way of Walt Disney the person (who died in 1966) just can't come soon enough in light of Disney's copyright-infringement-riddled legacy!
Star Wars + Star Trek = Intergalactic legal fees through the roof
