Darth has another one....

Okay. I know I've had a few ideas that haven't been all that great. This time though (hopefully) will be a little different.

We already have a trade in center for games. How about a trade in center for guide books? I have a bunch of strategy guides at home for games I don't even have anymore. They are just taking up space on my book shelf. I'm sure there are others who still have old guides. Why not give them to those who could use them? I just hope Jackson agrees. Any thoughts?

Well, the trade in center has become a central part of XBA however it is not something that is run by staff.

I took it over when Top Dogs left to keep it going and asked PureEvil to run it for me since I was not keeping it updated.

Long and short is you are welcome to start a thread for strategy guides, although I don't know how many people have guides they would want to trade or sell. But that's just me as I usually don't buy the guides, well except for the FFXIII collectors guide. :laugh:

Trading guides is always risky really. I like how Evil does it now where you can donate a game with the guide as 1 item if you want, but trading solely guides can be a risk. For example, if a game has collectable, I like to mark through them with a marker when I find them so you can kind of see where I'm going here. If anything, we should start a trading thread for every other system as well. Not just limit ourselves to 360 trades.

i think its a great idea and i know there are those that have a lot of guides laying around that aren't even being used...mine as well get some use out of them...good idea man!

I generally only add guides if the member adds the game as well, as a set. The idea of adding all systems has been thought of before, but I pretty much stick with just the current gen.

Just a few tips if you decide to do a Trade Thread of your own. Establish the rules in the first post and have your lists in the next few, like the current thread is. It helps a lot.

Do not play favorites, even if you are friends with someone who fucks up. That will throw your credibility out the window. I have even made myself Orange in the thread when I owed Mo the Surfer a 1600 point card.

Update a often as you can. Lately I have been allowing a couple days between updates, and it can get hecktic when I finally do, lol.

Keep up on Pending Trades, not everyone will follow the rule of updating you on trade status.

I have a few that I could trade. But my Two Worlds guide is going with the game in the regular trade thread.

You have all given some good advice. I suppose I could start something up but I would need a lot of help doing it. I've seen the trade in center thread and all thats required to keep that running. I will gladly accept any help anyone wants to give.
