Just got this for Christmas and have a question regarding the campaign of this CoD vs. previous ones before I jump into it. Should I play through on an easier difficulty or go right to Veteran? I have played through 2 on Veteran; beat 3 & 4 on easier difficulties, then moved to Veteran on both -- though I only got around halfway through 3 on Veteran; and have beat all of 4 on Veteran except for Mile High Club.

^I thought this was easier than 4 on veteran, but harder than MW2 which you hadn't said you played. I think 2 and 3 are harder than 4. If that helps.

everyone thinks 2 is harder then 4. 2 is the hardest, besides w@w (only because of those fucking grenades. take those out, shit wouldve been so much easier)
my friend said if you didnt have any issues w/ mw2 on veteran, you wont have any issues w/ this one. some parts are frustrating, but for the most part its pretty easy. and i think i know some of the frustrating parts so....i should be ok when i go for my veteran run through

ok, so at the end you find out reznov actually died after vorkuta. which explains why in the rat tunnels that one dude is like "what the fuck is your problem man? keep it together" and everyone pretty much ignores him but you, and how he always "just happened" to be where you were and stuff. ok, whatever. but my question is....if he's dead, then does that mean everything you saw reznov do was really you doing it, but you were having like an extreme out-of-body experience and picturing it at reznov? and if you werent, who the fuck picked you up when you fell after woods suicide-bombed w/ kruschev or whatever his name was? reznov got you off the ground. he doesnt exist. who was it? in the rat tunnels, reznov killed that one viet-cong dude. who did that? and most importantly, WHO THE FUCK OPENED THE DAM HELICOPTER DOOR?!!??! because it was stuck for you until he opened it!

You saw exactly how crazy he was in the final mission where Mason is seeing Reznov shout "I am Victor Reznov!" before shooting the Nazi doctor and when you're showed the other dude's perspective, it's Mason who shouts that before pulling the trigger. so mason is crazy as fuck, and thinks he reznov because of reznov "poisoning" his brainwashing, as the people put it. they said reznov was the reason mason wasnt normal/perfect like the other test subjects. so the whole fucking time, you basically think youre reznov so much, it drives you so insane that you have insane OBE experiences, and you see reznov because thats how you picture yourself, you think youre reznov. reznov is you. and youre a psychotic man w/ some crazy OBE experiences...what. the. fuck.
but that still doesnt explain how the helicopter hatch opened (you were opening it, then reznov came and pulled it loose) and who picked you up after woods jumped out the window w/ that one dude who he said had to die. i mean i s'pose you could say it was mason technically, since he is reznov...but...that would mean not only was he just having an OBE, his actual body was reacting w/ his OBE body, and i dont think thats possible in an OBE. the OBE you is like s'posed to be invisible..but then again mason is insanely psychotic so i guess it makes sense.
idfk. this games story makes my head hurt. its like inception in game form
