Re: Brittany Murphy dies at age 32

I just want to pipe up again and say that I do feel it's appropriate to 'pay your respects' to the memory of someone by honouring their death, consoling family members, or whatever. Since we don't know Brittany Murphy or her family, the closest we can come to paying our respects is mentioning her here, which is fine.
My beef is just with folks throwing around dangerous words like "should" and "ought", and calling someone close-minded and accusing them of being responsible for society's downfall because they aren't losing sleep over a stranger kicking the bucket.
I'm with Lady Evol here in that her death really doesn't impact any of us, and I personally just dislike celebrities and other famous people, but I have no problem with people paying their respects to the dead, whether they were famous in life or not--my original post in this thread was partially my paying respect to Ms Murphy's memory. I don't particularly care that she died, but I do care that she was once living if that makes any sense.
But I still stand by my opinion that we should be quicker to honour the living than celebrate the dead!
