Goldeneye was the best FPS at the time. I went back and played it a few months ago and I was like.....what the heck did I see in this game? But it still wins at the time because everyone played it and IMO there wasn't anything really to compete with it.
I don't think any of the new gen FPS games can really compete with the 4 person splitscreen of goldeneye and freaking screenwatching your friends so you can win..... Halo is great, so is Gears of war (even though technically it is a THIRD person shooter, but whatever) but I still haven't put as many hours in those games as I did with Goldeneye. WIN!

Well, technically... I think the thread would be better if it were called "your favorite FPS" because I'd say Bioshock is my favorite, where I'm not sure if it's TECHNICALLY the best made... I don't think I play enough shooters or put enough time into the ones I do play to be qualified to give an opinion on "the best."
