I've been reading over message boards and most folks seem to agree that the graphics are decidedly last-gen, the multiplayer is only fun for a short time, and the gameplay becomes repetitive too fast.

What I found very strange is that, after release, Randy Pitchford of Gearbox admitted that a lot of the game's development was outsourced. This troubles me a bit because one of the studios that worked on it was TimeGate, which is a small studio right here in Houston, previously only known for their mediocre shooters Section 8 and Section 8 Prejudice.

Anyway, I am a big fan of the movies, especially the second one, so I am going to give this game a solid try. While I scoot over to Redbox, anyone have any comments on the game yet?

ign gave it a 9/10 really really i havent play mine yet but ign hardly give out 9/10s and i heard some other place gave it 3/10 and 4/10

i haven't played much of it, but from what I have played (survivor mode) it's extremely fun! it's 4 marines (with no respawns) vs 4 xenomorphes who can continue to respawn. the marines can seal up doors and revive each other and get 1 turret, while theres different ways for the aliens to get around the map vents etc, it gets pretty intense. you switch sides and only control marine/alien 1 round each and then it;sa a new game.

Because I bought this game I ended up getting an email from Shift saying that I get 3 free keys for Borderlands 2. Which is nice even though this game sucks ass. At least the story mode does. I haven't tried the multiplayer yet. I've had at least 2 glitches that have gotten me killed on the first level. Having the Aliens fall through the floor and I can't shoot them, but they very much can kill me to having Alien body parts (mostly tails and limbs) floating in the air/sticking through the floors.

what i DO NOT like is if the host quits the match is over and you're back to a maIN MENU (not even back in same lobby withg people you just played with) no exp no nothing, so dumb.

I think you mistyped there, IGN gave the game a 4.5 on consoles and a 5 on PC.

Definite mistype, 4.5 from IGN and a 50/44 on Metacritic for 360/PS3, glad I avoided :rofl:

EGM was the company that have Aliens a 9/10

I played first level of single player and it's not that Bad. I mean it's not amazing but so far it's a 7/10 game. the reviews have been ridiculously harsh it seems.

EGM gives Aliens a 9 (the highest score out of 27 critic reviews, next highest is a 65), but gives Halo 4 a 7, seems credible

yeah a 9/10 is definitely too high, but 4/5 out of 10 seems too low. a lot of the game is solid, it's just minor nit pickin blown out of proportion due to the hype of the franchise and how long it was in development.

yeah 20-30 seems like a good price. the mp is pretty sweet, and a short campaign with 4 player coop is worth that.
