I've been having a similar problem. I ended up buying a new router, which helped but I'm not sure it fixed my problems fully. Halo 3 tells me my NAT isn't open, but I've forwarded all my ports etc.
My connection either fully drops me and can't find MY wireless router(it can find my neighbors unsecured router) or it goes from 4 bars HD on netflix down to one bar non-HD randomly even though nothing has changed on my network. I could blame comcast but I blame the Microsofts shitty wireless adapter that I had to pony up 100 extra dollars.
I'm hopefully moving soon and plan on hard-wiring my xbox from now on.

I have dsl and it works great for me. I have alot of friends that started out with the whole wireless shit and said it would work fine for a little while then they would have trouble with it. So they all went to wired networks and since then they haven't had any troubles with there network. So i would suggest just to go to a wired network over a wireless network.

I haven't had trouble with my Live in a long time. Maybe it was your ISP? Not sure.

i think wireless internet is great for web browsing cause it doesnt matter if you get dropped for a second or ten. but when you're gaming, i'll stick to wired i think.
