I didn't submit this as a news article just yet, as I believe it is still being rumored, but sources have said that MS will raise the XBLA game size limit from it's current 50MB limit to a 250MB limit, and if MS approves, they will raise it to as high as a 450MB limit. This would make sense as I see a new, bigger memory card in the works (perhaps 512MB instead of 256MB). Check it out:

I just don't understand the need for the memory card. I don't know anyone near me that doesn't have their Xbox 360 online anyway, so there would be no need for me to copy the arcade game to a card and take it to them.

All of my saves go right onto the hard drive too, so I personally just don't have a need for the memory card no matter what size it is.

As far as the size of the XbL Arcade games, it wouldn't matter to me what size they are. Heck, look at the size of all that new movie and media stuff now on Live.

I just hope the bigger size hard drives arrive soon and are relatively cheap. I haven't really come close to using up all of my current hard drive, but I can see it coming sometime soon, if my wife continues to download those movies, LOL.

Just a side note about upgrades, do you guys really think they are going to come out with an HDMI version of the 360 this year? That would be sweet, as my TV has ran out of component inputs, but then again, I would hate to have to upgrade my 360, ugh. (Sorry, just had to ask this Hektic)

My guess is that the Xbox 360 with the HDMI output would be specific to those that order IPTV from one of the providers, and not for the general public sale (at least initially).

With the 250 or 450 MB limit they will HAVE to put out a larger hard drive and better make it easy to transfer what I already have from this 20GB to the new drive. I will lose items if that's not possible (i.e. the super bowl xl themes and pics that I purchased) I would lose them now if I were to accidentally delete them as I cannot find them in the Marketplace anymore.

You can always back up your Hard Drive to your PC via one of the third party units.

Also, has anyone ever attempted to save items directly to a USB connected memory unit like a jump drive or portable Hard Drive?

It is not a "rumor", it's been confirmed over a week ago that Castlevania: SotN would break the limit, and so would some future games.

Yes, I know that Castlevania would break the size limit and MS had said that they would "look the other way" for others, but until now they have kept the 50MB limit instated, with a few bent rules. If they officially increase the size limit then that would mean that developers would not even have to ask MS if they can make their game larger, they could just follow the 250MB limit.

I heard that for rare games they would break the 50 meg limit.
Aslong as it means that the XBLA library keeps growing with good games, I say bring it on man. Just so long as for these bigger games you get more than just 200 achievement points.
