Put on some good earphones or crank your 5.1 system before you start playing Rez. You will discover it is an arcade shooter with musical effects and notes that respond to what you are hitting, as well as up to 4 controllers "trance vibrating" in synch with the beat.
You time it so that you can 8x combo everything possible, while also hitting all 10 level-up thingers and any bomb or green-point pickups.
You have to kind of get in to the zone with it, hit a focal point mentally, it isn't a twitch-halo-madden experience.
