XBL Diamond/Hollywood Video deal

So I finally printed out the coupon to rent 1, get 1 free at Hollywood Video and brought it to the nearest location.
(requires a PDF reader)

I flashed my shiny LIVE Diamond card and the manager gave me a blank stare. Neither she nor the manager of the other nearest store has ever heard of the XBL Diamond program, apparently, but she had no problem accepting the coupon.

I don't know how well this bodes for Diamond, but it's worth a shot for you to print that bad boy out and take it to a Hollywood Video. I have found their selection is actually a little larger than Blockbuster's, if not quite as current.
And you can't beat a 2-for-1!

Do it soon, though--that particular one expires March 31st and I don't know if Diamond is going to pick up Hollywood again.

well... all recent diamond cards expire in feb. since now xbox live diamond is making you pay for the membership.. it's not going to be free.. they've done 2-for-1's for along time.. that was the only useful thing probably that was on the xbox live diamond list..in my opinion..

Yeah, I've had my card since the service started and I've only ever used the Hollywood Video one. I don't think that most of the employees have any idea what a Diamond Card is, but they accept the coupon. Lol, I've never once had any body be like "Can I see your Diamond Card?"

Just wanted to remind everyone that the coupon expires on March 31st so use it while you can!

Also, I found out at my local store that when you sign up for a membership/account (it's free, btw) your game & movie rentals for the first month are half-off (excluding the very first thing you rent) so that's pretty good. I'm going in tomorrow night to see if I can use 2-fer-1 AND half-off on the same transaction. 2 games for $4 would be sweet

I don't know what is going on with the Diamond site. I have had two cards since launch, and somehow the dates are out of synch. If I log on with one g/t it says I am within 90 days of my subscription being up...with the other, no prompts, no warnings, and it looks like I get to keep my benefits until it expires (I think in August).

$6 a year though, if even just to use the 2for1s is still a good deal...the first time you use it, it's paid for itself! I liked it free, and as long as I have a working account on the site, they aren't getting a penny from me (and for the month after if the saved pdf file has a good expiration date!)

Bear in mind, Scuzzy, that you don't even need a Live card to use that 2-for-1 at Hollywood video, just a membership with the store.

D3ADLY, it's a shame you don't know the joys of Krystal Burger.
They serve tons of great stuff, including their specialty mini burgers.

Ever been to White Castle? Krystal is virtually the same thing--D3LICI0US
