Back on topic Mountain Dew sent me one, they had a deal before the 360 game out where they were giving one away with your choice of 1 game from a list of like 3 games every 10 minutes and all you had to do is collect bottle caps and then enter the codes onto the website then put as many codes into a 10 minute time period. Well that summer I had a job at the local race track picking up garbage after the races were done and i saw all these bottles with caps still on them so i started collecting the caps and entering codes into the website i think I had about 200 caps that I collected and I entered them all into 1 10 minute period and won. They sent me a prize package that included 5 T-shirts, 5 hats, a bunch of postcards i could send to my friends telling them to come over and play my new 360 lol, a bottle of Mountain Dew MDX (blech) and then I received my xbox 360 the day before they were released in stores along with Kameo (not the game I had chosen, I chose NFS Most Wanted but they sent that to me like 3 weeks later too). Still have the same 360 and I have never had any problems with it and needless to say when I earned my first achievement I was HOOKED!

AWESOME topic.
I was a HUGE sony diehard, hated the xbox, and was lusting for the PS3. When I got one, I hated all of its exclusives and my friend brought over this 360 one night. After one night of the Xbox, I was hooked and had to get one. Sold my PS3 and havent looked back.

LOVED Halo 2 and played it during many late nights with my friends. Went off to college and found out you could mod the original xbox so I did with some help from my brother in law's brother.
Played that for about a year after the release of the 360 and decided to put up my modded xbox on craigslist to see what I could get for it. Listed it for $350 assuming someone would offer less. Next day a guy offered $350. I took that $350 and used it to buy a 360 with 3 games for $300. Used the extra cash to get a Live account.

I was a adamant PS2 enthusiast until every game I wanted was gonna only be next gen and after hanging with Evol and playing his 360. He talked me into feeding the beast that is Microsoft. Not to mention that PS3 cost so damn much and you couldn't upgrade HDs on them.

ignore my first post.
i've always been a die hard RPG fan. mostly SNES and PS1 RPGs. when i was a teenager i lived in what you might call a commune. my roommate brad had the original xbox and morrowind. it was my first sandbox RPG. if i wasn't getting fucked up, i was playing morrowind lol.
a couple years passed and i ended up joining the elderscrolls.com forums. i'm still one of the highest posters there, but i don't really check it anymore. back in the day oblivion came up and of course i salivated all over the place.
as i remember oblivion wasn't exactly a launch title. i waited until it's release to get my 360. i woke up pretty early that day and drove to gamestop with my original xbox and a ton of games for trade. i stood in line for 2 or 3 hours with this massive bag until they opened their doors. they had 4 in stock and a sweet original xbox trade-in deal going on. got my 360 for around 100 bucks. they didn't have oblivion though, so later that night i went to kmart and picked it up lol.
i really can't describe what i felt playing oblivion, but the 360 has shown me so much more.

I use to be a Playstation Fanboy, God Of War was my game! God of War 2 came out and I sold my sat. radio to buy the game the day it came out.....I went to gamecrazy and picked it up. Got to my apartment, popped it in my playstation, and BOOM..................My Playstation got the equivalent of the RROD I guess you can say, lol.
So, I had a book case full of games for the PS2...I took all of the games to gamecrazy for trade in value. I don't remember how much I got for them, but I got a crap load. I was in the middle of a nasty break up with my then girlfriend, she owed me $200, I told her I was going out that night to play pool with my friends....and by the time I got home I expected it to be in the apartment....so when I opened the door to my apartment, my $200 was sitting on my coffee table.
But my choice for the 360 was because GTA wasn't coming out for Playstation, and my little brother had an Xbox and I played Fable and was hooked into that game and HAD to play the second one when it came out for the XBOX 360.
I woke up the next morning, went to Gamecrazy and after you subtract the $200 my ex gave back to me, and the trade in value for everything I took in....I only paid $80 for the console and 6 games and an extra controller....
Now I'm Xbox 360 all-the way....I bought the PS3 not too long ago, but I have hardly played it, I'm just waiting for God Of War 3!

I honestly don't remember why.. I think it was Halo 3 + Oblivion. I had just gotten out of my runescape addiction (thank you rehab!).. So I bought an Xbox 360 and I'm glad I did.

I was skeptical with all the problems that Xbox was having when they first came out with the RRoD. But I'm super glad I bought it anyways. Also, I use it for mainly video games, mines a little to loud to watch movies on, stupid fans.
