I suppose I can bite on this too...
When I was a kid, I had seen this story on the news about a guy on the internet who was arrested for putting bomb recipes on the internet, and went by the screen name of Def Vegetable. I figured, hey, that's a cool name, and took it as my own, but I didn't have any access to a computer at the time. Instead, I used the initials whenever I would post a high score in an arcade game or some other game I was playing. I figured, DV was a lot more interesting than CMM, which are my real initials.
Years went by, and I was playing laser tag with some people. The system tracked high scores, and Def Vegetable wouldn't fit, so I shortened it to Def Veg. After getting to know some of the people over the weeks, I was approached by someone asking me what my name meant. He was using the handle of Goku with some numbers on the end. Yeah, back then I didn't know about DBZ or anything like that. I told him the story, and he figured that I shouldn't go around with that tag because it would seem like I was worshiping a guy who made bomb recipes and putting them on the internet.
We batted around a few ideas, when we stumbled upon Def Edge. It sounded pretty good, so I decided to take it as my own. Oddly enough, I have found only one instance where it was already taken, everywhere else it is available for me to use.
Hopefully posting this here won't ruin that for me. I think I took DV back when I was 12, and I am 30 now.

Awesome guys.
That's an interesting one Def Edge. There wouldn't be a problem with worshipping the dude though. You said he was just putting the recipe's online right? Not actually using bomb's to kill people?
It's not his fault if someone else using the info for bad things.

Oddly enough, I looked up both my current and old tags and it turns out there isn't any information about the guy from the news. I guess it was quite forgetable, but not to me.
The current tag seems to be shared with a rap record label called Definitive Edge, which is nowhere near what I do. It would explain why I couldn't use it for my YouTube handle (I go by defedge2k there) because I searched for it, and sure enough, it was linked to the same group. But one thing puzzles me there, they haven't logged into the profile for 2 years, and they have no videos or information. I could of sworn I had signed up to it before with my tag, but I guess I didn't.

Magnum XIII...
I thought XIII was a really awesome game. Good story; decent characters...sucks that they never finished it, outside of manga. Also, like the number. Magnum; thought it was awesome to add to it; nothing too major to it

I seen that you were the last to post and thought it had to do with Bumblebee from Transformers.

So my bro in law just joined today, MMM Cupcakes, and he didn't even use my URL off of Facebook, so I don't have credit for him joining. Maybe he'll pop in here later and give a rundown on how his name came to be.
