So i just picked up my new video camera, its a JVC Everio. It comes with the software to upload and watch the videos/pictures but it has no software to edit them?

Does anyone know any software that i can use to edit videos, such as edit out certain parts, add effects, background music etc..

Also, I have tried Windows Movie maker but for some reason it wont allow me to upload the videos to it.

make sure its the right type of video (i beleive .avi's work best, but i know it has others that it supports) and make sure youre hitting "import video9or whatever youre importing)"

ive only done one vid w/ WMM, and it worekd out good. supported my vid/music type and all...only problem is, it took FOREVER to silence those vids (it was a sort of tribute to a wrestler and my CAW's titantron >->;)

mini is right, the macs are far superior to pc's for this kind of stuff. this is what they were created for,movies, videos, music,web design, etc. all the fun stuff pc 's make a chore out of .pc's belong in the office, macs rule for entertainment, even the standard stuff that comes with osx tiger/ leopard are great for most people. you can pick up refurbs through their website for some decent discounts.

Final Cut Pro is forking awesome...I went to school and got my associates degree in Radio/Television Broadcasting....Final Cut Pro was my shit!!!!, haha....we had a class where our Text Book was the Final Cut Pro big ass User Manual, lol.
