This is a damn shame.
You have to do all the research you can considering games cost $60 a pop, but definitely try Too Human for yourself before you make a final decision. Don't pass up the demo and ignore the retail release because it got a lukewarm reception.
Honestly, even though I effing loved the demo, I still agree with Game Informer's second opinion score of 7.5 (it was the main article/reviewer that gave the 6.5 or 6.75 or whichever). This game does seem like it would score a "75%" overall, aka a 'C'. But I seriously found it very fun--never forget that a game doesn't have to be as good as possible in every area of game play, graphics, physics, options, multiplayer, etc., to still be fun to play.

This is very true, im sure that everyone has at least one game that they love that GI or somewhere didnt give it the greatest review.

The controls are the main thing that is keeping me from buying this one. I play too many games, and have too many control schemes memorized! This just adds an entirely different one that I don't want to get used to simply because I don't believe that another game will duplicate it.

personally, i love the demo, and if got 9 out of 10's i probably wouldn't like the game seeing as how only the big games with the big money get the big biased scores. i never pay attention to game reviews much, because i know what i like, they don't know what i like. don't let them control what you buy, i did that once and was forced into playing oblivion because it got a 10 out of 10 and i thought it sucked -slowest gameplay of all time suckiness.

I just saw the review video from IGN and I think I am going to risk it and buy it Thursday.
The video says if you like "looters" than this game is for you...on that fact alone, I might pick it up and try it out...Maybe by Thursday there will be a used copy and if I dont like it I can take it back for my money

xplay gave too human, quote "a very strong 4 out of 5"-near perfect, only sighting small flaws with the targetting once in a while because of the amount of enemies on screen at once and the sheer speed of the combat. they also said the story could have been a little bit more in depth (it is 1st in the trilogy of games to follow) but the game's replay value is immense because of the amount of options you have in the game. people have wanted this game to fail before it was even out because it kept getting delayed and reconstructed numerous times over the last 9 years ( originally was supposed to launch on the ps2, then gamecube).-rant finished?

I came on here this morning hoping to see a thread like this after I saw X-play, IGN, and Gamespot reviews.
It sounds like this is a real niche game.
Me personally ... I don't like all the micromanagament it sounds like you have to do with your inventory. I think it drags you away from actually playing the game. Sorta reminds me how in Mass Effect I had to keep visiting vendors to sell of upgrades I'd never use and have to keep melting stuff down to omni-gel b/c my inventory was full.

What are you talking about? I never felt that way through Mass Effect...I thought it was a great game and that two is part of a trilogy. But...to each his own
I bought this game today...I haven't had a chance to play it but I can't wait
