it really depends what you want it to do. i'll never watch movies on a little ipod screen when i can just watch them on a big tv, so i don't need that much space and i also only have about 400 songs on my ipod and have had it about 2+ years, but that's just me. i would recommend the ipod though, apple products are excellent and they were the originator of the mp3 portable device. i use my nano at work and i'm in construction so it has to be almost bulletproof.

lol i just use cds yet lol. I have a dell dj from like 6 years ago, man that thing is a brick but it can hold up to 3000 songs so it keeps me happy

I have a 30gb iPod video, and I really am happy with it! 30gb is plenty of memory for me. If you go for one that has no video capability, or you don't put videos on it, that should be enough memory for you.

If you run windows then it should be really easy to transfer your files from WMP.
