It seems that with the growing number of people online, the comunication companys are having a hard time keeping their internet services working and running at proper speeds. There is new technology on the way, but it\'s a few years down the road yet.
To short term fix the problem there is talk of doing away with unlimited internet service and to start charging per Bits of useage. much like your cell phone min. It seems that the AssHats at Comcast are lobbying the other Cable and Telacom company\'s to get behind this idea and make it the new standard.
I don\'t know how much time you spend online, but I\'m on alot. So now they want to take away the only reason I have to justify paying what their already charging and that is unlimited service. I would think that with the amount of new acounts and their current monthly rates that they should already be bring in planty of cash to pay for the upgrades to the system.
This sounds like a real treat to online gaming. People that are online alot will definitly get soaked for cash. There will also be alot of people that just wont be able to aford service anymore. This would hurt the video game Industry at a time when people are cutting back because of gas and everything else going up in price. I don\'t think it would be funny to come home from school and go to get online and have your dad say \"sorry son, all we have now is basic cable we had to cut back\"
This is not a sure thing at all. I think it would also have to aproved by several Gov. agency.
Have any of you hear about this, if so please share what you know. Also want to know what everyone else thinks of this plan.
