I agree with Raine or TK; either option is something I would definitely do. Meg is right though; it may seem like the disc, but depending on how old your 360 is you may want to keep an eye on it, as the disc drive may be going.

I was just kidding about the monkey poop thing, but seriously, I have heard more than a handfull of people say that they have had problems with all 3 CODs on the 360. A few of the discs were brand new and didn't work out of the box. Those were the only games that didn't work and the consoles are still kicking to this day.

for me it always worked better to have the game in, and the drive closed, then turn off the system and turn it back on. For some reason it worked better to have the game already in when I turn it on over putting it in while it's on. It eventually NEVER worked trying to just load the game when it's on. I had to switch my profile to not auto sign in so I didn't keep popping in and out of people's friend lists and drive them nuts, lol.
I always play the same game, like I rarely change the game unless it's xba night. it's always shadowrun so the disc is always in there, but even if i switch the disc to something else i still have to work with it like atleast 5-6 tries before it works..it's a pain in the ***

...Meg, if swapping disks hurts your ***, I think you might not be doing it correctly
