And no, it's not an issue with the downstrum mechanism :D

My issue is that I can't get my 360 to recognize the Rock Band guitar.
Originally, I had plugged in the USB hub first, then the drum set into the hub.
The drum set registered as Player 1.
I then plugged the guitar in to the hub and it registered as player 2.

After I played the drums a bit, I wanted to see if I had any better luck with the RB guitar versus the Les Paul, so I unplugged the drums and plugged in the guitar hoping it would register as Player 1.

But now I can't get my system to recognize the guitar at all, ie no lights on the little Guide button on the guitar or around the 360's ring indicating it's plugged in.

So far, I have tried plugging it seperately into each of the ports on the hub, and each of the 3 ports on the 360 without the hub plugged in and still no luck.

I have also tried turning the console off, plugging in the guitar, and attempting to turn the system on by holding down the guitar's Guide button but this didn't work either.

Any other suggestions from anyone on what I could try before whining to the store or Harmonix?

If it isn't turning the system on, its probably dead. Call Harmonix, dont return it to the store. They will force you to box up and bring everything back.
