Alright, let me start by saying: I love my girlfriend. We are high school sweethearts, meeting in my junior years and her senior year respectivley. We\'ve been together ever since; we\'ve been through some trying times like everyone, but we\'ve never doubted ourselves. Our anniversary is the 27th of this month, actually.

So anyway, we\'ve been trying to beat Rock Band vocals on every difficulty. We\'re on hard now, and it is freakin hard! So last night we were got to a new setlist (I forget exactly which songs are in it). But it\'s my turn to pick, so of course I pick the \"Hand That Feeds\" since I\'ve done it on Easy and Medium. Of course, this is hard, and I failed out right quick.

She takes the mic, completes a song, I take it back and fail out of another song, so she takes it again and says she wants to try the Hand That Feeds. She\'s never heard the song before, other than the other two times I completed it, so I didn\'t have much faith in her since I couldn\'t do it and I spun that album for weeks.

She does it, and F-N rocks IT!!! I fell in love with her all over again after hearing her sing that song :D Ah Rock Band, bringing people closer together since 2007. So share your Rock Band story.

Last Saturday night my brother-in-law and 3 of his friends came home early and were waiting for my sister to get off work.

He is 31, and while he is a pretty avid gamer (he had a huge PS2 collection and completely destroyed games faster than anyone else I have seen) he has never played any rhythm games. His friends, a girl and 2 guys, presumabley around the same age, are similar--they have played some video games but nothing rhythm/music-related.

So my Brother-in-law was telling his friends about the game Rock Band and how I have a drumset for it and everything, so they wanted to give it a shot.

I brought all my gear out to the big living room tv. I got them all logged in and set up playing Band Quickplay on Easy, song number 1: Say It Ain't So.

And of course they fail pretty quickly. They switch instruments every couple of attempts until they settle on my brother-in-law singing (crazy, i would have NEVER pegged him for a singer), the two guys doing guitar and bass, and the girl playing drums.

On their seventh attempt, they managed to beat Say It Ain't So, with decent 70-80% accuracy rates. They moved on to In Bloom and beat it on their second attempt.

After explaining some basics of using Overdrive to 'save' each other, I left the room to do some stuff. I came back about 30 minutes later and they were on Creep by Radiohead! They had already beaten every song on the first difficulty tier, all but the first two were on their very firsty try! I had to go back in the living room and check on them because I heard a bunch of commotion, but it was them celebrating their massive victories over the first tier of songs and complimenting each others' skills on the instruments.

I was very impressed man, the whole thing spoke volumes about the quality of the "Rock Band experience" and how the game does a good job of bringing newbies into the fold if they are willing to stick with it despite early failures.

At first, when I saw them bombing Weezer, I figured they would get bored quick and head back upstairs to play MX v ATV on PS3, but they freaking stuck with it and had almost conquered tier 2 by the time they finished playing. Some of them had even played their instruments on Medium already and hit 80-90% accuracy!

Like I said, I would have never expected my brother in law to try singing, but he did a bad-ass job rocking out In Bloom and Mississippi Queen. When he didn't know the words, he would sort of start 'freestyling' but did a good job of hitting the right pitch anyway, and he would always enthusiastically hit his Overdrive to save someone else.

Overall it was an awesome experience for me, watching them take to something new and getting in to it so fast, helping each other through tougher moments and loudly cheering each other on during the big rock endings and stuff. That girl, who has never touched any percussion equipment in her life, was wailing away during the drum fill sections man!!
