apple falls under the "you get what you pay for" category. i love my mac. i had an origional imac just for fun then i had a mac mini with a 32" monitor but decided to go the portable route and got me a macbook.

I love Vista, it's a lot different than XP but for the most part it's worked great for me.

edit: but that does suck about the preorder, that's why you should never wait if it's something you really want! just like when you see a cute purse, dress, etc, if you don't buy it then, when you go back it's gone

I would love to get a MAC, someone mentioned it earlier, thought the computers are so damn expensive from the ones I have been looking at. I got a lot of other things to buy first, I can't be saving up for a $2,500 computer.

Furniture, TV, and a new car are taking presedence.......I dont think I spelled that correctly, lol....oh well

well u need to do some reaserch on appe then dont u. all the new macs can be shipped with mac OS and windows XP installed and macs are now being built with the same chips as pc's are now so u can game on a mac just as easily as u would on a pc nemore. all u have to do is reboot ur comp with xp and when ur done switch it back to mac OS and u will never have a problem with viruses again

The whole not dealing with virus thing...I love when people bring this up do you know why there aren't any major viruses on Macs? It's because businesses and people at home 9 times out of 10 use a PC for work and as such it's easier for hackers and what not to just create viruses to attack a PC as noone really stores sensitive information on a Mac. Macs aren't as bulletproof as people think or say they are people just dont take time to create viruses for them due to the fact that it isn't worth the time.

exactly. i dont disagree one bit. but the fact that i never get a virus or a popup or spam. i save all my sensitive stuff on my mac and so does everyone that i kno who has a mac. my mom even uses my mac to pay her bills and do her taxes bc she dont trust her pc. i dont have a "hard on" for apple as u put it bc i dont upgrade everything every year like the fanboys do. i just owned pc's and then i bought a mac and the positives way out weighed the negatives of the switch and now that i can play games if i choose to ( i dont bc i really dont like comp games) just makes it all the better.

What is it your doing with these computers 4 in 4 years, I'v had my $500 Toshiba for 2 years now and not one problem? I'm not knocking on the MAC at all i'm sure there great computers and all.
Tip 1: one don't piss on your computer, or put and other liquid on it
Tip 2: porn is a bad thing for you computer (unless you have virus protection)
Tip 3: don't throw your computer
Tip 4: running with your computer is not suggested
I can go on and on.
There is no major viruses on MAC is because there are't that many people out there to get those viruses, it not worth the programers time, larger target in PC market with viruses. Enough pple get MACs you will see viruses trust me.

I'm just stating the truth from my own experience with them. yea, you can't really run with a desktop but i've dropped my macbook about 5 times and it's still good so maybe you're right and wrong there. I think that the ratio of pc's owned to Macs is closer than you think. Mac's get updated pretty much once per week keeping everything fresh and updated. you can buy a refurb MacBook for under a grand and it's money well spent. I was a non-believer too but after seeing my brother's Gmac last 12 years (and still running fine) to my 5 PC's in total (that just run slower each day you use them), I jumped on the Apple boat. Pc's are ok if you're not going to surf the web I guess.

I Don't like paying thousands of dollars for something that can't stand the test of time so Pc's are kind of a sore subject with me.

I'm sorry to anyone reading this that it had to turn into a PC vs Mac fight, as that was not my intention.

For the record:
1) I'm getting Windows 7 no matter what happens.
2) I am neither a PC nor Mac fanboy. I like them both.
3) I use a PC, because that's what works better for me, and I like it better, just a preference.

I didn't say you were 8, I just don't understand how people burn out, break, or just think there computer is not work properly because they are doing something they think is fine. You would be surprised what ppl think a computer can do and survive? I dare you to drop or jar your computer while it is defraging I wonder how well it will work after that.
Oh, my previous computer to my toshiba was a now crappy 486 packard bell it lasted close to 9yrs, I guess i'm lucky, by the way that computer is still running for my neices and nephews. Oh, did I mention I do a little research before I buy a computer, not just what I think I need. Maybe check the company you are buying the computer from. FROM THE IDIOT.
That gap your talking about needs to include Schools, Buisnesses, and don't forget forgien countries. I'm sure i'm missing other places too.
I sould probably change my gamertag to "THE IDIOT" it has a nice ring doesn't it.
Other things to look into one of those warrenty programs, sounds like you find a lot of lemons or you have bad luck.
Side note who do you like in the all star game? I got to go make a Vegas bet, hint i'm not betting the team you pick.

I know i wasn't happy with any pc i owned and i'm happy with what i've got now. don't start in on me about "pissing on a computer" and it not being good for it. what did you think i was going to laugh that off. if you had said that sort of wise remark in front of me i would've taken your head off. learn some respect kid!
