On a mac you can use command + shift + 3 and it'll save a screenshot of the entire screen to the desktop. There are a bunch of other cool screenshot commands for just a select area, or window but I forget them all.
For a pc, usually there's a "Print Screen" button in the top right side of the keyboard. If you press that, you can paste the image into an image editor like Paint and save it.
