I have been a windows man for about as long as I can remember. But here lately I have been looking more towards getting an Apple computer for my next one...Either a laptop or a desktop. I have done a little bit of research on the apple computers. But I wanted to get first hand opinions on the computers.

So those that have MAC's, would you mind giving me your opinion on why you like the Apple computers on top of the window computers, and what do you like best Macbook, Macbook Pro, mac mini, iMac, or Mac Pro

Thanks!

i've never used a mac personally, but i hear it depends on what you're using it for.
i'm not sure, but i think PCs are better for gaming, while macs are better for like... organization, work stuff.... something like that lol.

like i said, it depends. what do you use your computer for most?
that will probably help other members decide which is best for you.

I don't do much gaming on the computer, IDK...everything I get for the computer doesn't seem to work right, or it bogs it down too much so I don't even bother gaming on the computer when I got the trusty 360.

I was looking at the apple computers because it would enable me to do quite a bit with my iPhone, I also would use it for work, and just the normal BS that we use computers for.

As a computer tech, I will say that I haven't needed to repair any where near as many macs as I have pcs. That being said, the few macs that did need repair were...extensive, to fix. Apple doesn't like anyone but Apple servicing their systems.

I would love to own a Mac, but sadly I just can't justify the price. For the price of a low end mac, you can get a pretty awesome gaming-level laptop, or an amazing desktop PC. If you've never used macs before, you're in for a bit of a learning experience. If you're a little tech savy, it is possible to dual-boot Mac OS and Windows on Intel-based Mac systems. That is what I would do if I were to ever get one; I just find that sometimes you just need Windows.

I've never had a mac, but a friend of mine does and he hates it. Plus, I'm more tech savvy than he is and I can't help him out with any of his problems or tell him how to do shit on it because they're so different than pcs. But, from what I've heard macs are better for music and crap like that, but pcs are better for work and school

I have a 15" MacBook Pro and love it. I don't know if I could ever go back to PC's. Mac's are extraordinarily well built, including both the physical hardware and the software. They're also extraordinarily expensive. For the amount of time I use my computer, that much of an investment is worth it. They're definitely not the way to go for gaming, but like Hektic said, if you use bootcamp or virtualization software like VMWare Fusion you can still run Windows applications and games.

Fanboys on either side tend to trumpet the merits of their choice, but the reality is that it depends on the individual. If you have an Apple retail store near you, you should check them out, play around with the software and see what you think.

Also, to help a little with the financial burden, check out Apple Certified Refurbished Macs. I got mine refurbished and saved in the neighborhood of $500.

I've had my MacBook Pro for two years now and there was one time it needed a repair. One of the internal fans broke and I took it to the Apple Store. It cost around $100 and took a couple days for it to be repaired. I chose not get the protection plan because of Mac's reputation for being remarkably durable.

MAC is good for entertainment (or at least kept me going as I played Oblivion on it)

I have a Mac Mini, and I love it. It is better built than a PC, doesn't break nearly as much, and all around runs smoother, in my opinion. However it has downsides, it doesn't have all the applications that Windows has, and it isn't good for gaming, but for recreation is dominates over the PC. Macs are more for artists or musicians or plain recreation, while PCs are more driven to the work side of things. Though the Mac can do work stuff well too. I have Microsoft Office for my Mac, and I do all my school work on it.

Overall I would recommend a Mac over a PC, but it is your choice.

But of course we know how good Vista is over Leopard, that is one thing to consider... hahaha
