I know now that the update didn't change this like many of the rumours I heard about going around claimed, however, M$ seemed as confused as I was when I emailed them asking about it, here's the response:
"Hello Jason,
Thank you for writing Xbox Customer Support!
I deeply apologize for the inconvenience and as I understand, you are inquiring if the Xbox Live 360 Arcade Trial Games will be removed.
Please be informed that a gamer card is a snapshot of the most important information from a users gamer profile. Depending on whether the profile is online or offline, the gamer card will present the viewer with different information.
Gamer cards show the following information:
Gamer card for an Xbox Live enabled profile
Gamertag
Gamer picture
Rep
Gamerscore
Online status
Zone
Membership type
Gamer card for a non-Xbox Live enabled profile Profile name
Gamer picture
Number of games played on profile
Gamerscore
Achievements
You can view your own gamer card locally. To do this, use the Me view. You can also view the gamer cards of potential opponents. To do this, use the You view in Xbox Live . Comparing the games, achievements, and stats of a potential opponent is a good way to find a potential match for game sessions.
