Alright, so I haven't heard a lot about Lips; I know that it is a karaoke game, and that it is the subject of much jeering by many. Be that as it may, I am a sucker for karaoke. Get a couple beers in me and a mic, and I'll make an ass out of myself all night! Plus, me and my girl love the vocals on Rock Band and Rock Band 2, so there is no doubt in my mind that I will eventually pick Lips up.
Lips is setting up for a November release, November 21, to be specific. It will retail for $69.99, and comes complete with not one, but two wireless microphones. If those mics work with Rock Band, then I will be one happy camper! If singing isn't your game, but you have a girl/wife that loves it, you will be able to pick up a controller and play along with a variety of percussion instruments. The game has said to feature both vocal coop and competitive modes, so you can see just how your vocal prowess stacks up against friends and family.
The game is set to feature 40 songs, a measly playlist when compared to the likes of Rock Band or Guitar Hero, who set the standards for games in the music genre. However, after doing a little reading I found a startling ability to be able to sing along to your own songs by way of connecting an MP3 player to your 360. Now that peaks my interest. The default song list includes:
