Awesome game ... definitely in my top 10 of all time.
What puts the game over the top is that it has truly epic moments like the decent into Rapture ... and other stuff put I don't wanna give away the plot.

Lord I am not flaming you by no means, but I feel that your statement is very unfair to a lot of people on this site. I read a lot, I love to read and if I don't have an xbox controller in my hand, I have a book. i agree. i prefer to play games, but i like reading as well.
bioshock had an awesome story, in my opinion.
some of those recordings were just plain creepy! i loved everything about it.

i dunno... maybe i'm not too picky with stories anymore, being a 360 player. most games with great story lines are RPGs, in my opinion, and most of the ones on the 360 don't really have great stories. not that bioshock was exactly an RPG... cuz it really wasn't, but it was close enough for me to love it hahaha.
personally, i think fallout 3 and bioshock have some of the best stories on the 360.
no other games really offer anything new.
i definitely haven't played every game, of course, but from the ones i have those are the best.
maybe it's just the allure of wandering around, finding out about the past on my own terms. that kinda thing just really floats my boat, i suppose.

I am just going to put this out there right off the top. I believe that Bioshock is the best 360 game so far. It has so many elements and textures. It has a story that rivals the great RPGs, and has the immersiveness that is truly unseen in the shooter genre. It has the creep factor of survival horror games, and the jaw dropping "WOW!!" moments that dwarf some of the most well made and epic games of this generation.
Like Raine said, if you ran through the game with your head down, not paying attention to the city around you, then you have sold yourself short.
10/10 (and the only 360 game that truly earns that high of a score in my honest opinion.)
