*fixed.
but yea. Fallout 3 is like oblivion with A re-skin,guns and VATS.(simply)
Not exactly. For one, Oblivion has magic, which can quite often save your ass- especially since the game automatically starts you off with a weak healing spell. Even if you choose to play as a pure hack-and-slash warrior-type, you still have that healing spell if you need it. In Fallout 3, you have to rely on food and chemicals for healing out in the field. One very noticeable difference between Oblivion and Fallout 3 is the condition of equipment; in Oblivion, pretty much anything you find, buy, or that is given to you has full 'health.' In Fallout 3, most of the weapons and clothes you find are barely even functional and the method used to repair them also differs. It's also of note that Oblivion uses a system similar to Final Fantasy II (the real FFII, not the US one), in that to increase your character's skills, you need to actually use them. Fallout 3 uses a more traditional RPG system of giving you skill points at level up and letting you choose which skills to improve.

yep yep. you have a huge open world and you can explore pretty much all of it right from the start, although the enemies don't level with you like they do in oblivion. so if you walk into the wrong area too early you will get slaughtered lol.
Yeah, like a mistake I made when I was at a low level and wondered a little to close to Old Olney........ big mistake.
Like the others said, if you think this is a game that you can see yourself playing for quite some time. You may want to wait for the game of the year edition. I don't know how much it is going to retail for. But if you buy the game brand new and all of the DLC seperate, it will cost you at least $110.

Fallout 3 is totally worth it, my favorite game on the 360. I just recently started buying the DLC. Can't wait for number 4!

Hated Oblivion and hated Fallout 3 as well. Totally depends on the type of game you like.

hahaha yeah that's always epic.
nothing like 4 or 5 you-know-whats charging you from outta' nowhere.
and the GotY will be 60$ it'd be pretty foolish for someone to buy the game now.

Yeah, wandering into Old Olney seems to be a huge newbie trap for Fallout 3, but I guess it's also a rite of passage.
(In otherwords, I did it too.)

I am scared to buy Oblivion. I played it on the computer and hated it. I learned the same company that made Fallout 3 made Oblivion and want to give it another shot, but I don't want to buy it for the 360 then hate it and have no achievements for it. Le sigh.

it really is a great game bovice.
the only real gripe i have with the game is leveled enemies. you don't even see certain enemies until you level up to a certain point. other than that it's amazing, and the graphics still rival some of the newer games on the 360 today in my opinion. i really don't think you'd be disappointed, but then again i don't know why you didn't like the PC version lol.

My main problem with this game is everytime I walked into a city guards would either fight me or arrest me. I couldn't make any progress because the whole city was up in arms against me! Oh well, maybe I'm just a moron. I'll give this game another shot once I find it for cheap.

dont kill people who arent trying to kill you, maybe try going into a town with your weapon put away, or dont use the wrong dialogue, just some tips...
